Practice Policies

How we work, so there are no surprises.

Confidentiality & Medical Records

We adhere to strict medical confidentiality and comply with data protection legislation. Your identifiable information is only shared with others where it's needed for your care or where we have a duty to — for example:

  • to provide further medical treatment for you — e.g. from district nurses or hospital services;
  • to help you access other services — e.g. the social work department;
  • where we have a duty to others — e.g. in child protection cases.

Our reception and administration staff need access to your medical records in order to do their jobs. These team members are bound by exactly the same rules of confidentiality as our clinical staff. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions can be requested by phone on 01 400 5708 or by email at info@aungierclinic.ie. Please allow enough time for your prescription to be prepared before your current supply runs out.

Test Results

Please contact us within 7–10 days of your test by emailing info@aungierclinic.ie. Don't assume your results are normal without confirmation — we'll always follow up directly with anything that needs attention.

Missed Appointments

Please let us know as soon as possible if you can't attend, so we can offer the slot to another patient.

Chaperone Policy

A chaperone is offered for any intimate examination — just let the doctor or nurse know your preference. You are also welcome to bring a family member or friend with you.

Equality & Respect

We are committed to treating every patient equally and with dignity, regardless of age, gender, civil or family status, sexual orientation, disability, race, religion, or membership of the Traveller community. Our care follows the standards set out in the Medical Council's Guide to Professional Conduct and Ethics for Registered Medical Practitioners.

Unacceptable Behaviour — Zero Tolerance

We ask all patients to treat our staff and other patients with courtesy and respect. We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards aggressive, abusive, threatening or violent behaviour — whether in person, by phone or in writing. Patients who behave in this way may be asked to leave the premises and, in serious or repeated cases, may be removed from the practice list.

Complaints

If something hasn't gone the way it should, we want to hear from you. Our full complaints policy — including how to raise a concern, response timeframes and how to escalate — is on our Complaints Procedure page.

Comments & Suggestions

We welcome feedback of every kind — not just complaints. If you have a comment or suggestion on how we could improve the service, please tell a member of the team, email info@aungierclinic.ie, or leave a note with reception. Feedback is reviewed by the practice and genuinely shapes how we work.
